How to connect Google Ads

Connecting Google lets Camorna write and run ads in your own Google Ads account. It takes about two minutes.

Before you start

1. A Google Ads account

A Google Ads account is where Google keeps your ads and bills you for them. It is a separate thing from your Gmail, your Google Business Profile (your listing on Maps) and Google Analytics — having those does not mean you have one.

  • How to tell: go to ads.google.com and sign in. If you have an account, you land inside it, and a ten-digit number like 123-456-7890 shows at the top. That number is your account.
  • If you don't have one: open one at ads.google.com. It is free to open. Google may try to walk you into building a first campaign — you do not need to; Camorna does that.

2. The Google login that manages it

This is the Google email and password you used in the test above. If an agency or a former employee set your ads up, the account may be under their login. Ask them to add your Google email as a user with Admin or Standard access — a read-only login can look but cannot run ads.

3. A way to pay, set up with Google

Your ads run in your own account, so Google needs a payment method there before any ad can run. You will find it under Billing in Google Ads.

Security

You sign in on Google's own page. Camorna never sees your Google password.

Steps

  1. In Camorna, open Settings → Apps, or choose Connect an ad app from your setup steps.
  2. Find Google and choose Connect.
  3. A Google sign-in window opens. Sign in with the account that manages your ads, and approve.
  4. The window closes by itself and brings you back to Camorna.
  5. Choose your ad account. If you manage more than one, pick the one for this store.

Google now shows as connected. You can come back to the same place at any time and use Change ad account.

What happens next

Nothing starts spending. Camorna reads what your account has run before, then proposes an ad and waits — see Can Camorna spend money I haven't agreed to?

If something goes wrong

  • "Pop-ups are blocked." The Google window is a pop-up. Allow pop-ups for Camorna in your browser's address bar, then choose Connect again.
  • "Sign-in did not finish." The window was closed before you approved. Close it if it is still open, and try again.
  • No ad account appears. You signed in with a Google account that doesn't manage any Google Ads account. Sign in with the right one, or open a Google Ads account first.
  • You connected the wrong account. Use Change ad account. Nothing is lost.
  • Google asks you to sign in again later. That happens after a password change. Choose Connect once more; your ads are untouched in the meantime.
