Adding music to a TikTok ad
Updated · 1 min read
Music makes a TikTok ad, and it is also the easiest way to get one rejected. A song you hear on TikTok every day is usually not cleared for advertising. Camorna keeps you on the safe side.
Before you start
- To search TikTok's music, TikTok needs to be connected. See How to connect TikTok.
- To upload your own, you need the track as an MP3 file on the computer you are using — and the right to advertise with it, explained below.
Use TikTok's commercial music
TikTok keeps a library of tracks that businesses are allowed to use in ads. You can search it from inside Camorna.
- In Creatives, open Music and choose Choose music.
- Search by song, artist, mood or genre.
- Select a track to hear a preview. You can use the arrow keys to move through the list.
- Add the one you want.
These tracks are cleared for use in TikTok ads, which is why it is the safest place to choose from.
Or upload your own
If you have music you own — a jingle, or a track you have paid a licence for — you can upload it.
- MP3 only, up to 10 MB.
- Upload only audio you own or are licensed to use. A song you bought to listen to is not licensed for advertising.
If something goes wrong
- "No matching TikTok music. Try another search." Try a mood or a genre ("upbeat", "acoustic") rather than a specific song title.
- "TikTok music could not be loaded." Check that TikTok is connected, then try again.
- "That music could not be uploaded." Check the file is an MP3 under 10 MB.
