Set up Camorna on any other website

If your site is not on Shopify, WordPress or Wix, you add Camorna with one tag: a single line, pasted once.

Before you start

1. Your site's address

The address customers type to reach you, such as https://yourbusiness.com. Copy it from your browser's address bar while looking at your home page.

2. A way to change the site — or the name of the person who can

"Pasting a tag" means adding one line to your site's settings, in the place meant for extras like this. You do not need to understand the line; you only need to be able to reach that setting.

• You can do it yourself if you sign in somewhere to edit your site — Squarespace, Webflow, GoDaddy, Weebly and most other builders have a box for it, usually called "custom code", "code injection" or "header scripts".
• You can't, and that's fine, if someone built the site for you and you have never signed in to it. Use Someone else runs the site below. Camorna writes the message for them.

Not sure which you are? If you can change the words on your home page yourself, you can almost certainly paste the tag.

If you can edit your site

1. In Camorna, choose Add your store, pick Any other website, and enter your site's name and address.
2. Choose Get the website tag and copy the line Camorna shows you.
3. Paste it into your site so that it loads on every page. Most site builders have a setting for this — look for "custom code", "header scripts" or "tracking code". If you use Google Tag Manager: New tag → Custom HTML → paste → trigger "All Pages" → Submit.
4. Open your live site in a browser once. The "Check it works" step ticks itself off when Camorna sees your visit.

If someone else runs your site

Choose Someone else runs the site. Camorna writes a ready message with the tag and where to put it. Copy it into an email or a chat to your developer or agency.

You do not need to check back with them. Camorna notices on its own when the tag is live.

Good to know

• Paste the tag once. Adding it twice does not help.
• You do not have to remove anything you already use. Camorna runs alongside it.
• Nothing about your site's design changes. The tag is invisible to your visitors.

If something goes wrong

• "Check it works" hasn't ticked. Check that the tag is on every page, not just the home page, and that you opened the live site rather than a draft. Clear your site's cache if it has one.
• Camorna says it couldn't load your tag. Close that window and open it again.
• Your platform has nowhere to paste code. Tell us which platform — we'll tell you the way in.
