Set up Camorna on Shopify

Updated · 2 min read

On Shopify, setup is one app and one approval. You do not need to give Camorna your shop's address.

Before you start

1. A Shopify login that is allowed to install apps

Have it in front of you before you start — Shopify will ask you to sign in part-way through. This is the email and password you use to sign in to your Shopify admin — the place where you add products and see orders. You reach it at admin.shopify.com.

  • If you opened the store yourself, you are the store owner, and you can install apps.
  • If someone added you as staff, you can only install apps if the owner gave you that permission. The quick test: open Settings → Apps and sales channels in your Shopify admin. If you can open it, you're fine. If Shopify says you don't have access, ask the owner to install Camorna, or to give your staff login permission to manage apps.
Security

Camorna never asks for your Shopify password. You sign in on Shopify's own page and approve there.

2. A store customers can visit

The last step is to open your store the way a customer would, so it needs to be a store a customer can reach. If yours still shows Shopify's password page to visitors, the last check may not tick until you take the password off, in Online Store → Preferences in your Shopify admin.

The whole thing takes about five minutes.

Steps

  1. In Camorna, choose Add your store, pick Shopify, and type your store's name.
  2. Choose Add the Shopify app. Camorna opens the Shopify App Store at the Camorna app.
  3. Install the app, and approve it when Shopify asks. You approve once — products, stock and orders all connect together.
  4. Come back to Camorna and open your live store in a browser, the way a customer would. That is the "Check it works" step, and it ticks itself off when Camorna sees your visit, usually within a minute.

Then connect an ad app to finish.

What Camorna can see, and what it can't do

Camorna reads your products, prices, stock and orders so that its ads are about things you actually sell, and so that a sale counts when it really happened. It cannot change anything in your Shopify store.

If something goes wrong

  • Shopify says you don't have permission. Ask the store owner to install the app, or to give your staff account permission to install apps.
  • "Check it works" hasn't ticked. Make sure you opened the real, live store — not the Shopify admin or a preview of an unpublished theme. If your browser blocks trackers, try a normal window with blockers off, or your phone.
  • You have more than one Shopify store. Add each one separately in Camorna. Your plan decides how many stores you can have.
