How to connect Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

Updated · 3 min read

One Meta connection covers both Facebook and Instagram.

Before you start

1. Your own Facebook login

Meta has no separate "business password". You sign in with your personal Facebook login, and Meta checks what that login is allowed to manage. Your personal profile is not shown in your ads, and your customers never see it.

2. A Facebook Page for your business

A Page is your business's public presence on Facebook — different from your personal profile. Meta requires every ad to come from a Page, even if you mainly want to advertise on Instagram.

  • How to tell: on Facebook, open the menu and choose Pages. The Pages you can manage are listed there.
  • If you don't have one: create it from the same place. It takes a few minutes and costs nothing.
  • If someone else made it: ask them to give your Facebook login full control of the Page.

3. An ad account, with a way to pay

The ad account is where Meta keeps your ads and bills you for them. If you have ever pressed Boost post, you already have one.

  • How to tell: go to adsmanager.facebook.com and sign in. Your ad account's name and number show at the top.
  • Payment: your ads run in your own account, so Meta needs a payment method there before any ad can run. It is under Billing and payments.
  • If an agency set it up: the ad account may be theirs. Ask them to give your login access to it, or make a new one of your own.

4. Instagram (optional)

To advertise on Instagram under your business's Instagram name, link your Instagram account to your Facebook Page first, in the Page's settings.

Security

You sign in on Facebook's own page. Camorna never sees your Facebook password.

Steps

  1. In Camorna, open Settings → Apps, or choose Connect an ad app from your setup steps.
  2. Find Meta and choose Connect.
  3. A Facebook window opens. Sign in, and approve what Camorna asks for.
  4. The window closes by itself and brings you back to Camorna.
  5. Choose your ad account, then choose your Facebook Page — the Page your ads will appear from.

Meta now shows as connected. Use Change ad account or Change Facebook page at any time.

Tip

On the approval screen, Meta lets you tick which Pages and ad accounts to share. If you untick the one you need, it won't appear in Camorna's list — run Connect again and tick it.

If something goes wrong

  • "Pop-ups are blocked." Allow pop-ups for Camorna in your browser's address bar, then choose Connect again.
  • "Sign-in did not finish." Close the Facebook window if it is still open, and try again.
  • Your Page or ad account is missing from the list. Either it wasn't ticked on Meta's approval screen, or your Facebook login doesn't have access to it. Ask whoever runs the business's Facebook to give you access, then connect again.
  • You don't have a Page yet. Create one on Facebook first — it takes a few minutes — then come back and connect.
