How call tracking works, and what happens to a missed call
Updated · 2 min read
For a trade business the sale usually does not happen on the website. It happens on a call. Camorna tracks the call as well as the click, so you can see which ads make the phone ring.
Calls are part of the Pro plan ($299 a month).
Before you start
- The Pro plan.
- The phone number your business already answers — a mobile or a landline. That is where calls will ring. You keep it, and nothing changes for customers who already have it.
You do not need a new phone, a new line or an app on your phone.
How it works
- We get you a number. There is nothing to buy and nothing to set up.
- It forwards straight to your phone. You keep your own number, and it rings exactly like it always did.
- You put the new number in your ads. Camorna does this for the ads it writes.
- When someone calls it, Camorna knows which ad they came from — and the call reaches you as normal.
Every call is written up
Each call is recorded and written up, so you do not have to listen back and type notes. The write-up pulls out what matters: who called, what job they want, where, and roughly what they expect to spend.
That becomes a lead in Camorna, with a follow-up message drafted for you to review and send.
A missed call still becomes a lead
If you are on a roof or under a sink, the call is not lost. It is still recorded as a lead with the caller's number and, if they left a message, what they asked for. Later, you can simply ask Camorna, "Did anyone call about the Okemos job?" — and it already knows.
The ad that made the phone ring gets the credit
Because each call is tied to the ad it came from, a booked job can be matched back to the ad that earned it. That is how you finally see which ads pay, rather than which ads get clicks.
