How Camorna knows which ads actually paid
Updated · 1 min read
Camorna does not ask the ad platforms how well their own ads did. It starts from what you actually sold and works backwards.
Sales come from your store's orders
Camorna counts a sale when your store has an order for it. That has two consequences you will notice:
- A sale is counted once, because there is only one order.
- It still counts when a visitor's browser blocks tracking.
Jobs come from your calls
If your customers phone rather than buy online, the record is the call. On Pro, each call is tied to the ad it came from — see How call tracking works — so a booked job can be matched back to the ad that earned it.
Why the numbers may not match your ad platforms
Each ad platform reports on itself. If a customer saw a Google ad on Monday and a Meta ad on Wednesday and bought on Friday, it is common for both platforms to count that sale as theirs. Add their totals together and you get more sales than you made.
Camorna starts with the orders you really had, so its total matches your till. Expect it to be lower than the platforms' combined figure, and closer to the truth.
A lower number is not bad news. It is the number you can plan a budget around.
What you see
You do not need to read a dashboard. Ask — "Which ads brought in customers this month?" — and Camorna tells you, in a sentence, with the figures behind it. It will also tell you when an ad is not paying for itself, and when your free posts are doing better than your paid ones.
