Set up Camorna on WordPress and WooCommerce

There are three ways to add Camorna to a WordPress site. Pick the one that fits — any of them finishes the step once your site sends its first visit.

Before you start

Have these ready before you begin. Installing the Camorna plugin happens inside your WordPress site, so you will be asked to sign in there part-way through — and setup stops until you can.

• Your WordPress admin username and password
• WooCommerce already running on the site
• Your site's address

Each one is explained below. If you can't get the admin login, skip to the other two ways further down — they don't need it.

1. Your WordPress admin login

Have the username and password in front of you before you start. This is the username and password you use to sign in to the back of your own website — the place where pages, products and plugins are managed. It is not your Camorna login, and it is not the login for the company that hosts your site.

• Where you sign in: type your site's address followed by /wp-admin — for example yourshop.com/wp-admin. That is your site's own login page.
• How to tell you're an administrator: after signing in, look at the menu down the left. If you can see Plugins, you are an administrator. If Plugins isn't there, your login is a more limited one, and it cannot install anything.
• If you don't know the login: it was created when the site was built. Ask whoever built it — a developer, an agency, or a family member. Many hosting companies also have a "Log in to WordPress" button inside your hosting account, which gets you in without the password. On the login page itself, Lost your password? sends a reset link to the email the site has for you.

2. WooCommerce switched on

WooCommerce is the shop part of a WordPress site. If your site has products, a basket and a checkout, you almost certainly have it. In the WordPress menu on the left you will see WooCommerce and Products.

3. Your site's address

The address customers type to reach your shop, such as https://yourshop.com. Copy it from your browser's address bar while looking at your home page.

The recommended way: the plugin

Use this if you can sign in to WordPress as an administrator. It is the only way that also connects your WooCommerce products, stock and orders.

1. In Camorna, choose Add your store, pick WordPress + WooCommerce, and enter your store's name and your WordPress site address.
2. Sign in to WordPress, open Plugins → Add New and search for Camorna — or use Open the plugin page in Camorna.
3. Install and activate the plugin.
4. Back in Camorna, choose Connect WordPress. Your own site opens and asks you to sign in, if you aren't already. Approve the connection when it asks. WooCommerce products and orders turn on with it.
5. Open your live store in a browser once, so Camorna sees a visit arrive.

No WordPress login? Paste one tag

Camorna shows you a single line to copy. Paste it once, site-wide, so it loads on every page. Common places to put it:

• A header plugin, such as WPCode or "Insert Headers and Footers" — add it to the site-wide header.
• Your theme or site builder — look for a setting called "custom code", "header scripts" or "tracking code".
• Google Tag Manager — New tag → Custom HTML → paste → trigger "All Pages" → Submit.

Someone else runs your site

Choose Someone else runs the site. Camorna writes a short message with everything they need. Copy it and send it to your developer or agency. Camorna notices on its own when they're done — there is nothing else for you to do.

If something goes wrong

• Connect WordPress opens a login page and you don't know the login. That page is your own website asking who you are — see Your WordPress admin login above. If someone else holds the login, use Someone else runs the site instead.
• You signed in but there is no Plugins menu. Your login isn't an administrator. Ask the site's administrator to install the plugin, or to make you an administrator.
• You can't find the plugin. Search for "Camorna" exactly, or use the link from the setup screen.
• The connection wasn't approved. Open the Camorna plugin in WordPress and approve again, or choose Reconnect WordPress in Camorna.
• "Check it works" hasn't ticked. Open the live site, not the WordPress dashboard. If you use a caching plugin, clear the cache once after installing.
